African Health Professionals Interest Group (AHPIG)

AHPIG was founded in 2006 as an informal forum to discuss health care issues in Africa.  The group currently comprises of graduate students in the Nursing, Public health and the Medical Schools at Yale as well as  Fellows and Residents in  the Yale New Haven area.

 Mission Statement:

To focus on health and heath-related issues in Africa, creating a medium for the exchange and implementation of ideas pertaining to health care development in the African continent.

 Overarching theme for the 2009/2010  Academic Year:

“Taking a Systems Based Approach to Improving Healthcare in Africa”.
