Columbus House/Immanuel Baptist -- Open for Spring 2008 Volunteers
Interested in getting real experience with clinicians dedicated to the underserved? Join Columbus House! Columbus House is a local shelter where we assist clinicians as they treat residents at the in-house, walk-in clinic. This involves taking vital signs and an abbreviated history of patients as they arrive, presenting the cases to the PA, and assisting her in examination/treatment. It's great clinical exposure, and a good way to give help to people who need it.
We currently send volunteers to our Immanuel Baptist location every Monday and Wednesday evening from 4:30 to 6. Typically we have enough volunteers such that no one needs to go more than two or three times in a semester. No experience necessary; we'll show you everything you need to know. All medical, PA, nursing, and EPH students are welcome.
If you'd like to volunteer, please fill out our short volunteer form by 11:59PM on Friday, March 21. We'll get back to you as soon as we compile a schedule.
Thanks!
